Overheating Repair Services at Felixstowe Computer Repairs

Our Overheating Repair Service is just £40.00

One thing that’s important in regards to your device is to keep it running cool. Laptop and desktop computers, due to their for ever increasing power, can produce a lot of heat. This is where a good cooling system is important to every device. This ensures that the over all system stays cool and stops it from overheating which can lead to a considerably shorter life, or completely failing and causing permanent and expensive damage to the device.

Because all devices are cooled with a fan system, they will always eventually suck in dust particles until there is a large layer of dust blocking the air vent. The air vent allows the hot air to leave (See the photo for an example of a layer of dust we removed from a cooling fan in a laptop). Even in the most cleanest of houses or buildings there is always going to be small amounts of dust which can cause this.

Some signs that your laptop is over heating are; Shuts off randomly or quickly after turning on, fans are running very loud, the base is getting very hot.

Here at Felixstowe Computer repairs we offer overheating repair services on both laptop and desktop computers along with Apple MacBook, Mac Pro and iMac Devices. We will clean out all of the internal dust to ensure the laptop is as clean as when you first purchased it. Sometimes the fans will also fail, or the bearings will start to fail if they are clogged up. If needed we will also replace the fan. Another reason that a laptop or desktop computer will overheat is due to the thermal paste drying up. The thermal paste is an oil based compound which is a thin layer between the computer’s processor (where all the heat is produced from it computing) and the heat sink (which feeds the heat), usually through copper or aluminium pipes out of the system. A lot of the time the thermal compound used in the manufacturing is low quality and is not as efficient or can dry up considerably quicker than a high quality compound. At Felixstowe Computer Repairs we ensure we use the best available thermal paste on the market. Our paste is an oil based compound which contains 99.9% pure silver to ensure the maximum conductivity when cooling your system.

Water Cooling Upgrades

Water cooling is a great way to ensure your system is running as cool as it possibly can. It runs a bit like a car’s cooling system with a fan cooling a radiator that then runs to a metal block over the processor (the part in the computer that creates all the heat). This is a great way to keep a computer that is very high in power cool. For example, a Gaming PC when running high demand games. Plus it’s a great way to make your computer look extremely cool whilst keeping the temperatures cool!

In the photo we have an example of a Gaming PC that we have built which also consisted of a water cooling system. These water cooling set ups can keep your system considerably cooler than a traditional heat sink and fan set up. Because all of the components are sealed there is no chance of any of the non-conductive oil based liquid inside leaking, keeping your mind at ease when the word water is mentioned with electronics.

Water Cooling Upgrades start from just £79 including parts and fitting.
