All pre-built branded desktop retail computers, for any use, will use generic parts. This ensures that the brand manufacturers out there keep costs as low as possible and mark-ups as high as possible. However, this means that the parts in these desktop computers are unbranded and / or generic, even with the more popular brands such as Dell, HP or Acer. These parts are not manufactured with the same quality and expense as individual branded parts, for example the power supplies (Low quality, low wattage), RAM and processors. As well as the cooling systems throughout the computer (Minimal cooling and poor thermal paste). The downsides to this is that they may not last as long as a bespoke built PC and once the warranty runs out means that it will cost time and money to get any of these issues repaired.
