Everything from photos or videos of holidays, your children growing up etc. to professionally written documents or photography, just about every area in life has value regarding data.
We would always suggest backing up your data at least monthly. You can do this locally via a USB, Blank DVD or External Hard Drive. Alternatively there are cloud based subscription services to back up to which can be very affordable.
However, there are occasions where you’ve missed a months back up, or maybe you just haven’t ever had the chance or expertise (Click here to view our tuition services where we can teach how to run regular back ups) to run back ups often. There are also times where you may have accidentally reset your computer, or accidentally deleted some important information that you cannot recover.
Here at Felixstowe Computer Repairs we offer extensive data recovery services which can recover deleted or lost data from your system. Even if you have completely formatted or reset your laptop, mac or desktop computer we can usually recover the data for you. Our prices for this service are just £45.00.
Your data is usually stored on what is known as a hard disc drive. This drive is a mechanism that reads from a platter using an arm (A bit like a record player reads sound from a vinyl). The downside to this is they can be extremely fragile due to being a mechanism can be prone to failure and loss of data at any time. If this does occur we can prioritise recovering data from a failing drive, ensuring as much as we can that you get your data back in one piece.
What to do if you accidentally wipe your system, delete or loose data
As soon as you find out you have lost your data, it is very important to turn off your laptop or desktop computer and not use it at all until the data recovery is attempted. When your data is deleted or formatted, it hasn’t actually disappeared off your system entirely. The binary (ones and zeros) are still there allowing us to recover the data, usually every time. However, the issues start when you start downloading, moving, adding more data or just using the device in general. Once you start doing this the new data is also consisted of ones and zeros. The problem is these ones and zeros can then be written over the old ones and zeros. Once this happens your data is almost for sure permanently lost. Fortunately, this is a very simple procedure to follow in order to ensure your data is fine to recover. Just ensure you don’t use the device until the data recovery is attempted and the data is recovered.
