Booting In and Stuck Update Issues

An example of a start up error when trying to turn on your device.
Unfortunately Updates are a necessity to all operating systems, especially with Windows 10. However they are not all bad. They patch security vulnerabilities, fix bugs and just generally keep your system up to date visually as well as practically. However, sometimes an update does not go through correctly for whatever reason. When this happens your system may get stuck on the update sign, may not boot in correctly or if it does boot in, it may start acting strange or become unusable (For example black or flashing screens appear). Here at Felixstowe Computer Repairs we can fix all types of update issues whether they are Apple or Windows based.
Sometimes though it is not just the Windows updates causing the boot in or strange issues. Sometimes your system, for whatever reason, will just not boot in or come up with errors on start up. There are some ways to prevent these issues, such as ensuring your laptop is kept open and plugged in until updates are finished. Or ensuring that you shut down your laptop or desktop computer properly.
However, there will be times where these issues are not going to resolve themselves. This is when we can help. Not only will we fix boot in or update issues, we will also see what caused them. Because your system is built up of tens of thousands of different files it can come all toppling down sometimes, a bit like a Jenga tower. Nine out of ten times this is just due to bad luck and the updates not going through correctly. However, sometimes this can also be caused by hardware issues. We will always run a full diagnostics tests on the laptop or desktop to ensure there is not a deeper problem causing the issue and will always quote you before we go ahead with the repair. We always want to ensure you know exactly what is wrong with your device and how much it is going to cost. Our diagnostic tools are some of the most respected on the market and not only extensively test over all the components in your system, but do this in an efficient time frame too. Ensuring you are not without your laptop or desktop computer for longer than needed.

There are other times where no matter what fixes we can implement, the operating system is beyond repairing. In these instances we can offer fresh installations and more importantly, data back up services. We know how important your data can be and we can ensure that it is all backed up before we go ahead and install a fresh copy of the operating system in which we will then place the data back onto.
We will always ensure that all of the systems updates are running the latest versions before we give your device back. This minimises any chance of these issues happening again in the future.
We work on both Windows and Mac based systems when it comes to booting in or update issues.
All of our booting in and update issue repairs include a 3 Month Guarantee from the date collected / returned.
